A Study of Evolution of ’Ilm Al-Furōq in Perspective of four School of Thoughts
Abstract
’Ilm Al-Furōq is an auxiliary branch of Islamic jurisprudence, which eliminates scholarly doubts, differentiates the concepts and provides the ability to draw the conclusions. To differentiate between things and concepts is the very quality which enables the human society to become Ashraf alMakhlōqāt; because of the very power and quality the human being recognizes and highlights the supreme position of Allah Almighty. This provides very basis of knowledge and Justice. The classical jurists had mentioned this element primarily; thereafter numerous books were attributed to this knowledge, some of them were even named it as Al-Furōq. The present study focuses on the brief introduction and historical evolution of ‘ilm-Al-Furōq. The study is significant for the academicians, Lawyers, religious scholars, policy makers and researchers.
