Abstract
íIn subcontinent, after the arrival of the British, a conflict had been seen
at the level of modern and ancient culture and education. The modern class
considerd the ancient as conservative while the ancient thought others as
mislead. Sir Sayyed Ahmed Khan was the messenger of modern education
and culture. But Hali wished to reform the ancient culture instead of
addopting the modern culture. In this easy an account of Hali's poem is
presented besides expressions of various Urdu literature critics of Hali, to
study how Hali expresses his contemporary cultural context and its
dynamics in his poetry.
