In today’s competitive environment, organizations in the service sector are struggling very
hard to win the mind of customers by providing them with value-added, high-quality
services. This can only be achieved by hiring highly skilled staff and providing them with
training and a better organizational climate. The objective of this study is to investigate
the impact of Human Resource Management (HRM) practices on employees’ engagement
in the banking sector of Pakistan. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect
the data and a sample of 396 was utilized for data analysis. The study revealed that HRM
practices like Recruitment and Selection, Training and Development, and orientation have
a significant positive impact on Employee Engagement (EE), whereas organizational
climate acts as a partial mediator
