A comparative study of the prison`s poetry of Ali bin Jahm and Ibn-e-Zaydun

تلخیص
Ibn-e-Zaydun was a renowned Andalusian poet. He served as Courtier Poet of Abu al-Hazm Ibn-e-Jahoor, a king of Cordoba, Andalusia in Maluk al-Tawaif era. Ibn-e-Zaydun succeeded in his private life by leaps and bounds which resulted in creating differences between King Ibn-e-Jahoor and Ibn-eZaydoon. He was consequently imprisoned by Ibn-e- Jahoor. While in prison, Ibn-e-Zaydun wrote him many poems having panegyrics so that the King may forgive him and release him from the prison. Ali bin Jahm was a well-known poet of Abbasid Caliphate era. He was imprisoned by Abbasid Caliph, Al-Mutawakkil Billah. While in prison, he also wrote many panegyrics in the praise of Caliph. Ibn-e-Zaydun has reproduced literal and poetical ideas of Ali bin Jahm’s prison poetry in his own poetry which confirms that Ibn-eZaydun was highly inspired from his prison`s poetry. The current paper describes the impact and reflection of Ali bin Jahm`s prison poetry in the prison`s poetry of Ibn-e- Zaydun.
