The present study was carried out for the 32-month period from March 2006 to October 2008 to describe the monthly
and seasonal physico-chemical characteristics in Gharo Creek, Thatta, Sindh. The results were used to provide a
general assessment of water quality in the area and determine the suitability of water quality for supporting grouper and
snapper aquaculture activities. This study has shown that conditions in Gharo creek are well within the physiological
tolerances of the grouper species of interest for culture (tiger grouper, Epinephelus fuscoguttatus).
