تلخیص
Usually the word “Jahilliya" is associated with the Arabs before Islam. A common perception is this that people could not read or write – or illiterate which is not correct. Many of the Arabic literature in the genres of prose, poetry, epic – style narratives. Along with this the hundreds and thousands of verses, speeches examples, historic incidents were saved in their memory. They were ignorant as they had derailed from the true path of guidance. They had indulged themselves in idol-worshipping and other malpractices. The current article is an attempt to highlight the real meaning of ignorance: Arabs were ignorant and not illiterate.
