Assessment of perceived inter-parental conflict and parental rejection is an important area of research related to personality maladjustment. The present research explored relationship between perceived inter-parental conflict, parental rejection and personality maladjustment in University students. Research also focused on exploring inter-parental conflict and parental rejection as predictors of personality maladjustment. Sample comprised of 120 students with equal number of girls and boys with mean age of 18 years (SD = 0.59, 0.58 respectively) and were recruited from a public sector University in Lahore, Pakistan. Children’s Perception of Inter-parental Conflict Scale (CPIC; Grych & Fincham, 1990), Parental Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire (PARQ; Rohner & Khaleaque, 2005) and Personality Assessment Questionnaire (PAQ; Rohner & Khaleaque, 2005) were used for assessment. Results showed that inter-parental conflict and parental rejection had significant positive relationship with personality maladjustment. Inter-parental conflict and parental rejection emerged as significant predictors of personality maladjustment. Research findings have implications for parents and counselors/clinicians who deal with adolescents.
