Punjab university made the English, the medium of instruction according to Lord Macaulay's educational system and Oriental College which was there for the development of oriental languages. Anjuman arranged a subjective meeting of poets according to curriculum needs and published a newspaper to spread their activities. After Urdu-Hindi controversy (1867) Hunter education commission (1882),Ripon local government Reforms (1882) Aitchison Public Service commission (1886) and the Punjab Alienation of land act 1900 increased communal conflict. Because of which Urdu-Hindi and Punjabi Languages controversy issue turned to communalism. Anjuman-e-Punjab supported all of three languages even in this critical situation. Afterwards Arya-Samajis, Muslim and Sikhs established in name of DAV, Islamia and Khalsa school and colleges. Due to these educational institutions competitive higher studies trend was developed but religious bias was gradually increased.
