تلخیص
Qiran al-Sa'dain by Amir Khosrow was written at the
request of Sultan Kaiqubad. The poem is based on the
reconciliatory meeting of Kaiqubad, the Sultan of Delhi
and his father, Bughra Khan, the ruler of Bengal on the
banks of the river Sar-e-Ju. Amir Khosrow, being an eye
witness, was commissioned by Kaiqubad to capture this
historical episode. Qiran al-Sa'dain occupies a unique place
in the landscape of Subcontinent's Persian literature.
Khosrow adopted an innovative style, aesthetically brilliant
and historically significant. The description of Delhi, the
triumphal arches, the singing girls, the musical
instruments, the gifts exchanged between the father and
the son, are some of the illustrious components of this long
historical poem.
