Obesity is called mother of diseases. The global epidemic of overweight and obesity is rapidly becoming a major public health problem in many parts of the world, including Pakistan. Like other developing countries, Developed world is viewing a huge switchover from acute & communicable diseases to the chronic & non-communicable diseases (NCDs) from a dismal era of food scarcity to one of food excess. However, many developing countries including Pakistan, experience a double burden of death from chronic diseases and infectious diseases.
