UNUSUAL FOREIGN BODY IN URINARY BLADDER A 25-years old unmarried male complaining of dysuria and increased frequency of micturition for a week was referred to the Urology Clinic. He had history of insertion of a foamy strip into the urethra three months ago for sexual pleasure. Abnormal radio-opaque densities were observed in the pelvic cavity on plain x-ray. A self-inserted foreign body (FB) in the urinary tract is rare. With careful history and physical examination, the physicians can get information about the type of FB and duration of insertion. Causes of foreign bodies in the lower urinary track include psychological, iatrogenic during urological procedure, traumatic and migration from other organs. It can be diagnosed by history, physical examination, and imaging studies to determine the exact size, number, and location. Minimally invasive procedures such as endoscopic removal are recommended to prevent bladder and urethral injuries. Psychiatric consultation should be obtained to prevent further such attempts.
