Schwannomas or neurilemmomas are benign, slow growing, usually solitary and encapsulated tumor, originating from Schwann cells of the nerve sheath. Intraoral schwannoma account for only 1% of the head and neck region and are commonly seen at the tongue base region. In this article, we report a case of lingual schwannoma involving the posterior tongue, in whom the lesion was completely excised via an intra oral approach. (Rawal Med J 2011;36:60-61). Key words: Schwannoma, tongue, intraoral mass.
