India is one of the emerging states of the Asia pacific region and its emergence as an economic and political power house in the region has made it an important player in regional politics. Since the turn of the century the US tilt towards New Delhi has further highlighted its importance in the region. Look East Policy of India is designed to increase the New Delhi’s role as the regional power in the East Asian affairs and counter the Beijing’s influence in the region and in rise as a competitor to the US role as superpower. US Asia Pivot strategy aimed to contain the power and influence of the Beijing, has presented New Delhi as a natural ally of Washington in the region. New Delhi’s continued hostility towards Islamabad has projected the Indian rise a threat to the strategic partnership of Pakistan and China. Washington’s support for enhanced role of New Delhi in global affairs and its proposal to include a permanent member of UN and other prestigious global organization can be viewed as a support to India to advance its interests in the region. The researchers have analysed the role and policies adopted by the New Delhi and its increasing nexus with Washington in order to understand the rise of India as a regional power and its impact over the Pak-China nexus in the changing global scenario.
