This paper explores stylistic peculiarities of Tabassum Kashmiri's
poetry in the perspective of 'Linguistic Formation' a literary movement of
the 1960's Kashmir himself remained ardently associated with. Although his
later poems are quite reminiscent of a macabre and unquestionably an
aesthetic imagery, quite discernible in his later poems is a bifurcation into
two categories __ violence and a stoic resistance imbued in divine fold, an
imagery which is tour de force of Tabassum Kashmir's poetry. On the
whole, his poems genuinely hold a mirror to contemporary poetic trends
and shifting paradigms of fear and angst, which have actually impelled the
researcher to take up the arduous task of analyzing his poetry.
