An Expository Study of Characters in the Drama Muqadama-e Kashmīr

Muqadama-e Kashmīr, a documentary drama written by Bakhtiar Ahmed on Kashmir’s modern history, was telecasted on PTV in 1991. It was telecasted thrice on PTV which confirms its popularity. The drama talks about the characters responsible for making Kashmir the bone of contention in South Asia. These characters include Gulab Singh, Partab Singh, Hari Singh, Jawaharlal Nehru, Mountbatten and Sheikh Abdullah. All these historical personalities are there in this drama with their real names and identities. The author has analyzed the effectiveness of incidents, dramatic effect and historic truths documented in the play.
