In this study, the influence of historical, political, social and cultural events in the Indian Subcontinent before and after 1947 was explored using Abdullah Hussein's novels. The social and cultural events in the past of India and Pakistan and the effects on the Urdu novel have been examined with the help of the works of Abdullah Hussein.
