Issues of Modern Times in the Poems of Nasir Ahmad Nasir
Abstract
The poetry of Naseer Ahmad Nasir is the quintessence of his deep
observation and experience. Terminology of Science and words
related to engineering are a part of his diction.The present day man is
facing a lot of problems. Pakistan has suffered a lot after the world
Trade Center attack. As a result of terrorist activities, we have seen
the loss of thousands of innocent lives. Moreover, industrial and
technological development has devastated the beauty of Nature. In
his poems Naseer Ahmad Nasir has highlighted these problems in a
forceful and effective manner. He raises his protesting voice against
multifaceted human attitudes. He protests against those who violate
the human rights. He is an ardent supporter of human equality,
sympathy, kindness and justice. He is against all types of terrorism,
exploitation and injustice. In short, the diction, style, metaphors and
imagery of Naseer Ahmad Nasir contributes a lot in forming the
Modern Urdu Poem.
