Comparative Analysis of Punjabi Students' Writing Errors in English and Urdu at Secondary Level
Abstract
Pakistan is a multilingual country with more than 60 languages. It
will not be wrong to say that out of these languages, Urdu and
English, which did not originate in Pakistan, are the most powerful.
Urdu is the national language while English is used as the official
language of the country. Both these languages are taught as
compulsory subjects in our educational institutions. Punjabi is neither
the official language nor is it taught as a subject in the schools. Both
Urdu and English are taught from the primary up to the university
levels as compulsory subjects. The aim of this study was to compare
the English and Urdu errors of the Punjabi students at the secondary
level.
