Abstract
Molvi Ahmed Mallah, the great Sindhi Poet, is expert of both
Classical Hindhi/ Sindhi Prosody and the Arabic Prosody. Lyrical
translation of Quran Majeed named ‘Noor ul Quran’ and his mixed poetry
named ‘Kulyat Ahmed’ are his best work in the light of different type of
prosody. He has composed masterpiece Verses (Bait) and Kafi as well as
Odes (Gazal) and lyrical poems. His poetry is rich and unmatchable
regarding execution of figures of speech. He is famously known as the king
of the Alliteration (TajneesHarfi) whose famous forms are: TajneesTaam,
TajneesNaqis, TajneesMazeel, TajneesMurakib, TajneesQalb etc.
This research paper is analysis of Antanaclasis in his poetry.
Antanaclasis means usage of same word at different places in prose or poetry
giving different shades of meaning and thoughts.
As far as Antanaclasis in Sindhi prose or poetry is concerned, our
scholars have given vague concept of term as well as inappropriate examples
in their respective works. But when we analyze Antanaclasis in molvi
Ahmed’s poetry and his grip and clarity of the term, we found it very
exceptional, clear and outstanding. To our boundless astonishment, he has
even composed complete odes regarding Rhyme and Subsequent (Radeef)
containing the exceptional usage of Antanaclasis in his poetry, that has no
any other example before us in any other writer’s work.
This paper aims at doing analysis of Antanaclasis in Molvi Ahmed
Mallah’s match-to-nothing poetry.
