Journalistic Contribution Of Pir Hussam U- Din Rashdi

Abstract
Pir Hussam-u-Din Shah Rashidi was born on 20th September 1911. His native place is Bihman, which is located at Ratodero, District Larkana . His family had a religious bent. He belonged to a landlord family, but he had a great interest towards education and literature from his childhood. He showed his interest in poetry, criticism, fiction, journalism and historical research work. His work for journalism, as compared to his contemporaries, is still matchless. Many books of Sindhi Adbi Board Jamshoro, including a quarterly magazine, were also published under his guidance. Not only that, but he performed editorial duties for high-rated Sindhi, Urdu, and Persian magazines and periodicals, such as: Alminar, Sindh Zamindar , Sitara Sindh, Qurbani , Mehran Risalo, Quarterly Pars, Urdu Risalo, and Iran Shinasi. These were published under his editorship for of many decades. Pir Hussam –u- Din Shah Rashdi died on 1st April 1982. He is buried in the historical graveyard of Makli, at Thatta. This literary article is a review of Pir Hussam –u- Din Shah Rashdi’s the services in the field of journalism.
