Abstract
It is a proven fact that folk literature is the base of all other kinds of literature. Many other genres of literature have arisen from folk genres. Similarly, the basis of short story is also folk story. We can say the same for Sindhi poetry as well. Sindhi folk songs form the basis of Geet, Waee and Kafi etc. This is also the reason why traces of Flash fiction are seen in our folklore. The term flash fiction is basically an umbrella of these kinds of stories, which includes short-short story, sudden fiction, drabble, dribble, treble, fiction-55, twitterature, palm sized story, smoke long story, nano story, one-word story etc. The literary term Flash fiction was first used in 1992 for those stories which consisted of less than 1000 words. This research paper is aimed at giving examples of such flash fiction from Sindhi Folklore in the form of tales, fables, proverbs and parables etc.
