Abstract
Nursi stipulates a very comprehensive type of Objectives of Suluk.
That’s why even the deniers of Mysticism cannot refute his ideas. He
does not limit Mysticism only to esotericism. Rather he advocates
that a Saalik must undertake the reformation of the society along
self-reformation. In his opinion, a Saalik must play his role for the
betterment of the society. For Nursi, it is mandatory for a Saalik to
have absolute Love for Allah, and he must submit to His will, have
patience and trust, and be grateful. Moreover, it is elementary for a
Saalik to wholly consign himself to Allah. And when he succeeds in
entrusting all his matters to Allah, he should start his struggle to
improve the society, beginning from home. Nursi gives immense
importance to the congregations that aim at religious edification for
the reformation of society. He states that the Objectives of Suluk
cannot be achieved successfully until a Saalik succeeds in reforming
the society.
