Abstract
It’s a matter of fact that Muslim societies are facing many socio-political and
socio- religious challenges in contemporary era. In which the ridicule of Islam on social
media is one of the most important contemporary challenge of the Muslim world. Those who
make fun of Islam perform such activities under the guise of freedom of expression. They use
different websites of social media for mocking of Islam because social media is the easier way
to execute like that activities. Therefore, it is strongly required to critically analyze the issue.
This research paper will explore the problem and then it will elaborate the solution to counter
this modern challenge. The study will answer the questions that what are the causes and
impact of these activities. In this study, analytical and critical research methodology have
been adopted to conduct this study. This study assumes that one of the major causes of the
mocking of Islam is produce against Islam and some atheist and secular personalities and
Lobbies are behind it. Therefore, this study recommends legal and ethical mechanism
required to be developed to stop the ridicule of Islam on social media at personal and
collective level.
