Abstract
Our great spiritual master, the exalted Baba Fareed Ganj Shakr
spread light of guidance and eliminated the darkness of ignorance
that had blinded the non-believing masses of his time. Besides being
a spiritual guide and mentor of immense stature, and an eminent
master of Hadith sciences, he served the cause of Din Islam as an
effective exegete of the Quran. He tenaciously followed his
predecessors and enjoyed equally enviable compatibility by his
follower exegetes. His exegetic expositions are considered standards
wherever the followers do need some authority. In addition, his
services towards preaching Islam and widening the Chishtia school of
thought, especially in Punjab are unmatched and historic.
