Abstract
This article is a critical study of the remarkable and distinguished mystical work of Ibn e Ataa ullah Sikandri (Died 709 AH/ 1310 CE) the great figure of Shadhli chain of mystics. He was the disciple of Shaikh Al-Mursi and the first one in shadhli chain who penned the basic and fundamental rules and philosophy of this vide spread chain of Sufis. Al-Hikam undoubtedly considered the masterpiece of mysticism in Arabic literature and the same time it represents the original Arab mysticism in seventh century hijri. More than forty commentaries were written on this book which demonstrate its vital importance in the eyes of scholars.
