Abstract
This study investigated the effect of protean career orientation on individual’s perceived employability. This is the first study of its nature which tried to establish the relationship between protean career
orientation and perceived employability. We used protean career theory to develop our conceptual framework.
Data were collected from the academic staff of private sector universities by using the stratified sampling
technique. Theoretical model was tested using the data obtained from 192 respondents. Measurement model
is tested by using the confirmatory factor analysis. To test our hypothesized model, we employed structural
equation modelling technique in AMOS 21. The researcher found a statistically significant relationship between protean career orientation and perceived employability. This study also provides the implications for
the management.
