Abstract
Analysis of variance showed that the genotypic differences for plant height, ear height, days to tasseling, days to silking, ear length, number of grain rows per ear, number of grains per row, 100 grain weight and grain yield per plant characters were highly significant. The phenomenon of heterosis occurred in varying degree in almost all process for the characters under study. Maximum heterosis percentage was observed for grain yield per plant (82-109 %). Inbreeding depression was exhibited to varying degree in almost all the crosses for different characters. Over dominance type of gene action was present in all the traits.
