Abstract
The present investigation was carried out for the estimation of general magnitude of heterosis and heterobeltiosis among F1 hybrids derived from six hexaploid bread wheat varieties which were TD-1, SKD-1, Imdad, Khirman, Moomal and H-68. Initially, 15 all possible one-way and 15 reciprocal crosses were made to rise F1 generation by diallel method. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four replications; observations were recorded on nine metric traits out of which six are discussed in this research paper: Plant height, tillers per plant, spikelets per spike, grains per spike, 1000-grain weight and grain yield per plant. Cross SKD-1x Khirman produced dwarf plants, while hybrid SKD-1 x Khirman showed highest heterosis and heterobeltiosis for tillers per plant and spikeles per plant. Regarding traits, 100-grain weight, grains per spike and grain yield per plant combination of three parents Moomal, H-68 and SKD-1 resulted in highest magnitude of heterosis and heterobeltiosis
