Dysdercus orientalis Schouteden is redescribed in detail with special reference to its metathoracic scent auricle, male genitalia
including inflated aedeagus and female genitalia including spermatheca. The species is also compared with its closest allies and its
cladistic relationship is also briefly discussed in the light of its apomorphic characters.
