Abstract
In this study, we examined the cytotoxic activity of the ethyl acetate, methanol and aqueous methanol extracts of the aerial parts of
two species of Achillea using Brine Shrimp Cytotoxicity Assay. Results showed that ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of A.
talagonica and A. tenuifolia had a cytotoxic effect against the larva of A. salina. The minimum lethal concentrations of aqueous
methanol extracts of both plants were more than 1000 μM. EtOAc extract of A. talagonica was the most effective extract (LC50 = 413
μM) among all fractions
