Abstract
Naqoosh started its literary journey in March, 1948 as a representative magazine of progressive movement. Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi and Hajra Masroor were editors of this dynamic lietrary venture. Both of them were prominent figures of progressive literary movement. They have advocated the philosophy of the movement by including the writings of progressive writers in Naqoosh. In the 3rd volume of magazine, they included controversial short story of Minto "Khol Do" and as a result of that they faced six month ban on magazine. Government did not stop their pressure after the ban so in this depressing atmosphere Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi and Hajra Masror were forced to quit the editorship of the magazine in November, 1949.
