Abstract
A 2.7-m long, 1.22-m wide, and 1.73-m high University Boom Sprayer Test Bench had been designed, developed,
and fabricated to evaluate different types of nozzles for the measurement of discharge, swath width, cone angle,
and spray pattern. Six nozzles had been provided, out of which five were fixed to spray top to bottom onto the
corrugated sheet just below the boom pipe like a conventional boom sprayer and the sixth nozzle was directed
towards the vertically moveable platform to spray at different angles (0°, 15°, 30°, 45°) with respect to horizontal
on the under side of water sensitive papers. The water sensitive papers can be easily inserted in rubber holders
mounted on the moving belt for spray uniformity evaluation. The distance between adjacent nozzles on the
conventional boom was kept constant as 38.1 cm.
