Abstract
Life in the universe is a great mystery. Human beings, from the epoch of their very beginning, are in search of their origin and aim. Through scientific research and spiritual experience, they are trying to know the ultimate truth of their existence in the world. In the modern era, C. G. Jung and Sigmund Freud, the great theoreticians belonging to the fields of twentieth century psychology and philosophy, have tried to discover the governing forces of human psyche. Their naturalistic reductionist outlook could not satisfy the thinkers belonging to the fields of metaphysics and spirituality. In this perspective the prevalence of Platonism in the modern age has its inevitability. The writer of this article argues that this attitude will continue till the scientific, empirical proofs of ultimate reality are discovered
