A complete diallel set of crosses among six cultivars of colton were analysed to evaluate the gene action controlling the phenotypic manifestation of yield of seed colton and its components. Additive type of gene action was observed for number of bolls, while over-dominance type in case of boll weight and yield of seed colton. No epistatic effects were observed in the inheritance of these characters.
