ubstantial heterosis was observed for plant height,
grain yield and yield components in eight wheat crosses involving local and exotic wheat crosses. The Ft hybrids exhibited heterosis due to partial dominance for plant height, dominance for number of fertile tillers and non-additive effects in
the range of partial dominance and over dominance for the
traits of spike density and grain yield. Varying degree of inbreeding depression was observed for the traits studied. Reciprocal differences between hybrids were found to being significant for number of fertile tillers and grain yield.
