Abstract
A worldview is generally understood as a set of beliefs about fundamental aspects of Reality that ground and influence all our perceiving, thinking, knowing, and doing. The first part of this paper proposes a precise definition and nature of what a worldview is, and why there is a necessity to have one, with a brief analysis of contemporary paradigms of worldviews. The second part presents an understanding of the basic principles of an integrated Islamic World-view in the light of Qur’ân and Hadȋth. In view of the limitations of this paper and to avoid a lengthy discussion, the terminologies or contents of a worldview i.e. epistemology, metaphysics, cosmology, teleology, theology, anthropology and axiology, which are highly interrelated to each other, have not been intentionally discussed in this paper.
