Abstract
Only a few poets could exert their names on the pages of
history in presence of lqbal during his lifetime, however, it
was only Firaq who proved to be able not only to absorb
Iqbal’s philosophy but also to express the same into his own
specific artistic and poetic way. This aspect is not of less
importance. A lot of his verses reflect this impact of Iqbal’s
imagination. Ishq. continuous struggle for one’ life’s aim and
sorrow but also all that in a very beautiful manner.
Simultaneously, it is important to mention that he never
hesitated to confess that he was impressed from lqhal’s
thoughts and philosophy. Only this point can prove him as a
great man. It may also be pertinent to point out that Firaq,
though proved himself to have a separate identity in the
field of poetry, however, he, despite his best efforts in using
Iqbal’s diction, phrases, metaphors, rhymes and ‘zameens of
ghazals’, could not bring himself to even near to the highest
pedestal upon which Iqbal stood. Nevertheless, it is not of
less honor for Firaq that he got inspiration from one of the
legends of the legends i.e. Allama Muhammad lqbal.
