Abstract
"Udas Naslen" is rated among the most celebrated novels of Urdu Literature. The
convas of this novel encompasses the era from 1857 up to 1947. The strong and
energetic civilization of India was demolished during this span of a hundred
years and the upcoming generation was lost alone with myriads of crisis.
Accordingly, identity crisis emerged as the biggest problem for subsequent
generations. Abdullah Hussain presented the philosophy of identity crisis with
atmost skill in "Udas Naslen". The following paper is a detailed discussion of the
same philosophy.
