Abstract
It is said that unity is strength, and united we stand divided
we fall. No doubt, it is a fact that unity and consensus has a miraculous role in
organiziation and development of a nation. There are so many moral stories
behind these proverbs, which are common and known by everyone. In
prespective of numerous verses of the Holy Quran and the ahadith of the Holy
prophet (pbuh) relevant to this topic, the importance and significance of the unity
of Muslim Ummah is quite clear. But when we take an overview of the unity of
Muslim Ummah at present time, we observe that Muslim world is facing
numerous serious issues and problems. Muslim world is scattered and dispersed
geographically, politically and spiritually, while they have common ground to get
together and to be united. And all the Muslims of the world can get together on
this common ground of Ummah.
If we observe and analyze the plight and worst condition of
the Muslim world, we come to know about some fundamental reasons which
caused this current situation. This analytical study of Muslim world will give us
understanding about the obstacles in the unity of Muslim Ummah. When we study
the matter, we find two kinds of reasons e.g. internal reasons and external
reasons.
