Abstract
Mujaddid-ud-din (D-652h, the grandfather of Shaikh-ul-Islam Ibne
Taimia, is considered one of the distinguished jurists of Hanbali
School. Muntaqi-ul-Akhbaar is known to be his first ranking book
ever produced. This book includes chapters on jurisprudence
categorizing those Hadiths which different jurists find supportive
and quotable for "Istadlaal". Renowned scholar of Yemen,
Muhammad Bin Ali Ashshoqaani, wrote illustration of
Muntaqi-ul-Akhbaar in eight volumes titled "Neel-ul-Autaar". This
Illustration has been celebrated for its comprehensiveness,
compactness and conciseness. Works produced by Allama
Shoqaani envision his persistent efforts that, at length, earned him
great recognition among the scholars. Present research article
presents glimpses of his life and his awe-inspiring contribution to
the domains of scholarism. It also highlights different distinctive
features of Neel-ul-Autaar (An illustration of Muntaqi-ul-Akhbaar).
