Abstract
In the realm of fresh theoretic works on the body of general & applied
linguistics in Urdu, Faiza Butt’s dissertation stands top-tier due to its clear focus
and presentation. Published in 2017, her book viz “Urdu men Lisaani Tehqiq”
(Linguistic Research in Urdu: ïã—~zŠ Qg ) starts from study of traversing the
roots of languages & dialects but soon it seizes your attention because of boldly
developing a series of unambiguous and crystalline hypotheses. At every point
this young scholar seems not content with only summarizing the discussion but
dares to state her very own standpoint in much weighed & measured yet fancy
lexis. Writer of this cursory article hopes igniting academic discussions on the
subject matter thanks to this scholarly work of the first order
