Abstract
The Urdu language has been maligned/criticized for its incapacity to articulate
and express the higher academic and philosophical problems. This is no more
than a wrong or false perception, not strengthen by the facts. This article
includes an introduction and detailed review of a rare Urdu book on the
fundamentals of logic: MubadiulHikmah. It was written by the famous Urdu
writer and one of the earliest Urdu novelists, Maulvi Nazeer Ahmad. It came
out, first time, in 1871. Last time, it was printed in 1920. Since then, it is out of
print. Today, only a few copies can be found in the old collections, and the
condition of those copies is really critical: These copies are in a serious
condition. This article intends to challenge this wrong and far spread assumption
that the Urdu language is not capable of producing higher academic and
philosophical problems and issues. In addition to this, it will also serve the
purpose that the Urdu language has the ability to articulate higher academic and
philosophical issues adequately.
