Abstract
The ideal relationship between Pakistan and Turkey is not dependent some vested interests or joint agreements. Rather it is common cultural heritage of the two brotherly countries. The translations from Turkish literature into Urdu and vice versa make everyday communication easier. Urdu, as a medium has played its role. Sajjad Haider Yaldarm was the first writer who for his stories, their characters and culture borrowed from Turkish literature but without mentioning the origin. In this context, Col (R) Masud Akhtar, appears as a lighthouse, who spent 45 years of his life in identifying the common cultural heritage between Turkey and Pakistan through his conversions of Turkish into Urdu literature.
