Abstract
Sheikh Zahur-ud-Din Hatim is an important poet who came to
lime light before Sauda and Mir and got prominence. He wrote his
old Diwan but after the siege of Delhi by Ahmad Shah in 1739, this
style was out dated. And a new style of poetry became popular with
the advent of Mir, Sauda, Dard etc. Under the circumstances Hatim
revised his old diwan thoroughly and prepared a new diwan which
was entitled " Diwan Zada " and arranged it in chronological order
which was something new at that time. He also wrote a Diwan of
Persian poetry which has been published in 2010 from India. This
article throws light on his various published Diwans, indicating
several changes made by the poet himself in his earlier poetry.
