Abstract
Mir Anis was a great poet and he is considered to be "Master of the
Genre of Mersia". Apart from mersia, he also composed innumerable
Salams for the martyrs of Karbala and their relatives. As history says, there
were men, women and children who accompanied Imam Hussain (A.S) in
Karbala. After the tragedy and martyrdom of Imam Hussain (A.S) and
some of his distinguished companions, the remaining relatives lamented on
the tragic end of their loved ones. When Mir Anis depicts their sentiments
and portrays the sad emotional expressions, he uses all the variety of
accents and emotional expressions. This quality of Mir Anis is very rare
because it is very much nearer into the human nature. It is a fact that even
the Prophets, Imams and spiritual leaders also behaved like humans when
there was any tragic event in their lives. We have therefore, proved by
citing examples from the Salams of Mir Anis to justify the title.
