Urdu ghazal and culture of hindu ism
Abstract
"Undoubtedly literature is the mirror of any era. No Artist can
create anything in isolation of the environment/surroundings. He
is connected with the culture of the era consciously and
sometimes, unconsciously. Poets and writers of India were in the
midst of two civilizations. Arabic and Persian Literature had
deeply impacted the Urdu Literature, in particular, but this Arabic
and Persian element, in conjunction with the Indian part, resulted
in such beautiful creations that the Urdu Ghazal has reflections of
both the Ganga-Jamni civilization and Indo-Irani culture.
Influence of the effects of Hindi Civilization on Urdu Ghazal has
been discussed in the work in hand."
