Imaginaon of Awareness and Struggle in Shah Laf’s Poetry
Abstract
When a human being visualizes the world with his knowledge, making use of his senses, he feels and creates its image and defines it with in a
creave manner which becomes eternal. The depth and span of human
knowledge has a connecon with the experiments and observaons of the
outer world.
Shah Laf is the conscious poet of Sindh. Laf has included the common folk in his poetry because these common folk characters give the imaginaon with respect to the awareness and struggle with which people get enthusiasm for life. Laf’s poetry is not based merely on the collecon of myths
and stories but Laf’s poetry involves imaginaon.
Laf’s Knight, Marvi, is a poor girl. She is a strong and sustainable
character. Her name gives the imaginave feels of loyalty, respect, honor, and
patriosm. Bejal provides imaginaon of a musician, whereas, Moriro Mir
Bahar provides imaginaon for a praccal struggle. Sasuie connuously provides the imaginaon for awareness and struggle.
In describing these characters, Laf has an important aim. With the
use of these characters, Laf promotes the spiritual, social, economic and
moral awareness among the common folk while also encouraging people to
do good deeds. In doing so, he is also minded of spreading awareness regarding the situaons prevalent at that parcular me. Society develops from
struggles. Laf tries to remove unemployment, hunger and evilness from the
society and for that purpose he has chosen or created such courageous characters which enable the society to become pure, peaceful, prospers, and is
based on the principles and noons of human rights
