Abstract
Miran Bai is a well-known poetess of Baggati Tahreek of medieval
period of India. She mostly wrote `Bhujjans` for the love of Kirshana. She not
only wrote but sung her poetry as well. Her poetry was composed on Indian
scales of `Chhand Vidia`, which are very rhythmic.
In Sindhi Literature and music there is a genre called `Vaaee`.There
are various point of views regarding origin of Vaaee i.c is some scholars believe that its originator is Khuwaja Ghulam Fareed, whereas others connect it’s
origin with Shah Inayat Rizvi.
In this research paper I have tried to trace out the origin of `Vaaee` in
the poetry of Miran Bai`s Bhujjans
