Abstract
Being comparative is human nature. It is conceivably the oldest
way to determine true worth of things. When it comes to
literature, the comparison has even more dimensions. This
field is so enormous that determining its watertight boundaries
is nearly impossible. This article deals with the basic idea,
methods and state of comparison between two or more literary
works. In the beginning, many of the scholars were of the view
that comparative study is confined only to the comparison of
religions. Preliminary change in this notion and inclusion of
literature in this narrative has been discussed briefly.
