Abstract
There were many things that played a significant role in the Pakistan Movement and Urdu language was among them. Urdu-Hindi controversy divided the Indian Leaders who were supporting the unity of Indian people in the beginning. Indian Muslims preferred Urdu and they started working to promote Urdu through various techniques like developing grapheme research. This practice continued in Pakistan and many significant books have been published on Urdu grapheme. Individuals as well as organizations made efforts to promote Urdu and this article discusses some of the major works of post-freedom ear.
